I grew up in a large metropolitan area and even though my husband has history in the same area, he spent most of his life in small population areas in the high deserts and mountain ranges. We have since moved to the country in the Midwest. This is a pleasant and peaceful change to me that is also somewhat of a shock as I didn’t think I would enjoy this as much as I do.
I have found sometime to be still and have a beautiful view from my living room window of green grass and my raspberry bushes. As I raise my vision, my eyes lead to peach trees and beyond those hovering over are oak and elm tree leaves gently blowing against the blue-grey clouds that are moving with a burst of speed. There is actually another layer of white puffy clouds above them that seem to be hanging still, dormant. Beyond that is creating another dimension where the sun is trying to shine through with the blue radiant sky behind it streaming down to the green grass. Wow, the breeze coming through the window is refreshing and cool compared to the humidity we experienced earlier today and I am glad to see the temperature decrease.
I see a few birds in the air and they seem to be elegantly gliding with the wind, they gently change direction and glide simultaneously like a beautiful dance to a peaceful melody. They are graceful and sometimes in sync with one another and sometimes gliding opposite but are definitely relaxed and going with the flow of the wind current they are drifting on. But! they are actually vultures and are looking for something to devour. They are scanning the ground in search of their feed. As peaceful as my view is I have to remember, we need to be on guard at all times, as the NKJV reads in 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
