Trust & Obey

Before the sun came up and my eyes opened this morning I could hear a tune in my head. The tune, Trust and Obey.

I haven’t heard Trust and Obey in years. This is an old hymn that we sung in the traditional church services that I experienced as a child. Yes, back in the 1970’s. Although I believe this hymn is much older than I.

I only remember the 2 lines in the song: “Trust and obey” & “Trust and obey for there is no other way.”

Who or what do we trust in? I mean really trust in? Deeply trust in? Trust with everything? And I do mean everything.

Our:

Thoughts
Money
Decisions
Relationships
Jobs
Gifts and talents
Words
Health
Emotions
Fears
Time
Motives
Souls
Integrity
Actions
Discernment
Obedience
Wisdom
Today and our tomorrow

Who do we truly obey? Ourselves, the world, society, or do we obey what we think our friends, family or a boyfriend’s or girlfriends expectations are of us? Or do we obey Him above all, in all areas of our lives?

We can hold back and only trust Him with our salvation. What will be the results if we hold back on everything else we consist of and only trust that one area of our lives to Him, our salvation. That would be making God, our God only at our physical death.

There are other ways we can choose but they don’t lead to life and righteousness. Victory is when we Trust and Obey Him with our all!

Psalm 84:12 O Lord of hosts, Blessed is the man who trusts in You!

John 17:3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
