Accepting Christ as your Lord and Savior is:
- Confessing that you are a sinner and repenting of your sins
- Confessing that Jesus died and God raised Him
- Placing your faith in Jesus
Key versus to review:
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Eph 2:9 says, Not by works, so that no one can boast.
We were born sinners and we are sinners and God sent His Son for our redemption.
John 14:6 says, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Acts 3:19a explains repentance. Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out. Acts 26:20b reads, they should repent and turn to God and prove their repentance by their deeds.
If you are ready to allow Jesus to be the Lord of your life and choose to surrender all, pray this prayer or a similar one of your own, believing in your heart:
Dear Heavenly Father, I confess I am a sinner and need Jesus as my Savior. I believe Jesus is Lord and You rose Him from the dead. I surrender all to You.
At this point, I suggest you reach out to your pastor. If you do not have a Pastor, reach out to your local church and explain you accepted Jesus through prayer and you want to confess Jesus publicly as written in Matthew 10:32 – 33 and be baptized as in Acts 2:41.
